Big Chop Revelations

Hey y’all, I just realized that today is my one month big chop anniversary! Oh, I know, ooooooh, an entire month! Can’t you just taste the progress? Yes, that was sarcasm. I mean, it is Tuesday. Anywho, there are a few things that I have realized since my BC, and I just wanted to share with y’all. Here it goes:

– You know, with short hair and no make up on, I sort of look like a 13 year old boy. A really pale one. But you know what? I’m okay with that. However, I am starting to question the men who find me attractive…like, did I see him on To Catch a Predator? Lol, just kidding!

– While I love gel, I can get away with not using it as long as I use something that takes out frizz. I HATE frizz. But moisture is key.

– Castor oil is the bomb! I have been using it for only a week, but my hair is so soft, and I love doing nightly scalp massages with this stuff. However, it is very thick and can clog pores, so be careful not to use too much.

– I had to change up my product order, and I like it much better now. I guess it’s still as moisturizing, but now I do leave-in, gel/styler, moisture…rather than LI, moisture, gel/styler, pomade/seal. My moisturizer doubles as a sealer, and I like the combo with less products more. Makes my head less producty for a time.

– I’m currently on the fence with glycerin. I don’t want it to dry out my hair, but I like it when I initially apply. Currently, I’m not too worried about it, since I cowash everyday and am not concerned about 2nd-3rd day hair.

– I only need to comb my short hair maybe like, once a week. Usually I just finger detangle in the shower with conditioner.

– Video blogs are fun, but goodness, my voice is annoying!

– Some people don’t like their loose curls at the top, but I like mine. They remind me of Alfalfa from The Little Rascals when they stick up…hmmm…see first point.

– Shea butter is all healing, it even heals tattoos!

– If you know of any products that smell like dessert, TELL ME.

Well then, that’s all I really have to say about that. I’m ready for spring. I hope my stylist was right when she said hair grows faster in the spring and summer.
