I know that I review a lot of products that cannot be found in the store, but best believe, I am always in CVS/Walgreens/Rite Aid/Ralphs looking for some new stuff! Also, I love having choices at the drugstore because if I’m caught in a pinch, I know I can go there and get some goodies. Here are my favorites:
Best Shampoo: Deity America Deity of Hair Plant Shampoo for Hair Loss (Thanks, Nef!!) – Now, I don’t believe this is in all CVS stores, but, it has gotten rave reviews and it does seem to be thickening Izzy (as if she needs it, snort). It smells funky, but that’s because it has all these interesting plant extracts in it. If you can’t find it at CVS, you can get it here.
Best Cowash: Aussie Moist – Yes, it does have a cone, but I’m rinsing this one, so I don’t really mind. Also, I have some shampoos with sulfates if I feel as if it’s building up. I haven’t had any problems yet though. I get GREAT slip and I love how thick it is. It smells yums too.
Best Deep Conditioner: Tresemme Naturals Moisturizing Conditioner – This has saved me more than once while I’ve been away and Izzy started freaking out. Ultra moisturizing, great slip, and a nice smell. It does contain protein, but Izzy is fine with it.
Best Leave-In Conditioner: Aussie Moist, if Yes to Cucumbers Condish isn’t available – YTC is the BOMB, but it’s usually only at Target or Walgreens. Sooo moisturizing, ridic slip, great ingredients and not too heavy or producty. I can also leave Aussie Moist in, but I only do this as a last resort.
Best Styler: Fruit of the Earth 100% Aloe Vera Gel, which can be found at Rite Aid or the grocery store. In MD, I got it at Harris Teeter. Y’all know I love me some AV gel!!! Soft hold and works great in all climates, for me at least. It’s definitely my go to.
Well, there you go. What are your favorite drugstore products?!
xoxo
What’s the protein in the Tresemme Naturals Moisturizing Conditioner? I can’t find it on the ingredients list.
There are a lot of amino acids in it, and avocado oil is often considered a protein.
I was looking for a cheap sulfate free option and just tried the L’Oreal EverStrong sulfate free “Hydrate” Shampoo/Condish. It’s $7 for 8.5 ounces and I am a fan. I’ll probably keep buying the shampoo b/c it will last for a long time & is gentle, but I’m only using the condish now b/c I got a keratin treatment & I have to.
I like Tresemme Naturals as a deep conditioner as well. My other products would be VO5 moisture milks, has great slip and leaves my hair very soft. Finally, Jamaican Mango and Lime Locking Gel, I use this for my twists and braid outs. These are definitely my drugstore staple products.
The organix line. DR has been having a 50% off sale so i’e stocked up on that and Herbal Essences.
