…but I can’t bring myself to do it. Usually, I give Hollywood a side eye when they remake popular shows/movies and make them more politically correct (because I feel like they’re trying too hard, just make the dang show, okay?), and I certainly wasn’t going to give this a pass just because this is a display of natural hair. But something about this picture tugged at my heart, I don’t know why, but it DID!!!
The above photo is of Annie Ilonzeh, who is playing the first black Angel on the ABC remake of “Charlie’s Angels.” I don’t know what happened, but seeing a black woman in the water SMILING with her natural hair did something to me. I won’t lie, I got a little misty eyed (maybe have I have PMS). But look at her! She’s just like, “Wet hair don’t care!!!” I love it!
For more pics of the new angel on set, check out The YBF. I can’t wait to watch!
xoxo
I love it! We don’t normally see this so I saw oh happy day!
That’s how I’m gonna look when I head to the pool one of these days.. laughin with my mimosa and wet hair!
Never heard of her until now. Good stuff. Thx for sharing.
Lol @ wet hair dont care 🙂
Natural, AND carefree. I’m tired of the overly primped, diva black girl character. So refreshing.
Now this is what’s up! I will be sure to watch this show just cuz of her and awesome hair. They both look prettiful! Dang, its about time you finally let some chocolate on the angel team, Charlie! =)
*Dies* at “chocolate on the angel team.” You crack me up.
She has been my hair idol for a while now! She is/was on General Hospital and I’ve seen some of these Charlie’s Angels pictures and gotta say I’m so excited that the show has obviously invested in someone who knows how to take care of her hair versus the way it’s been on GH. I hope this show does well and I’m so glad they haven’t straightened her hair!
See, I learn something new from you everyday! I had no idea about this! I will look forward to this, too.
And by the way, do you think the former swimmer girl in you got a little misty?? Hmm?
LOL! Probably. I’m a water baby, through and through. Just not at that nasty water at the gym near me…
eep! can’t wait to see what they do with it…so proud of the multicultural angels (very sad that has to even be pointed out and applauded in this millennium)
Oh, so cool. Thanks for sharing!
