yeah, see i was telling you a while ago about how this stuff absorbed well in my hair and you said it didn’t in yours, so i guess they formulation change was the ticket.

i really like the Sweet Ambrosia. i use it as a refresher or nighttime moisturizer. i hate the smell though. i got the Coco Lime. someone told me it smelled like Fruity Pebbles and i was tryna be cute and not get another Cocoa Mango smell. i shoulda just kept what works. Coco Lime smells like Lemon Pledge. gag.

But the issue is…both of the bottles I have are “supposed” to be the same formula. Both of these I got after she changed to the black bottle and the ingredients are exactly the same on the bottles. I just don’t think their formulations are consistent…it’s like a box of chocolates…you never know what you’re gonna get! And I like the Coco Lime, I think it smells like Skittles!

yes i agree i don’t care for the coco lime smell. i had the old hair milk in that fragrance and i wound up throwing it out.
i purchased sweet ambrosia in honey oatmeal.

I love the smell of these products but for price it’s not worth it to me. I think the next time I go to NYC I’ll stop in and stock up on some lotion.

You hair is so cute like that! Now we can really see that pretty face of yours! Thanks for the review!

That hair ambrosia. I won’t buy this again. I loved my first batch. I think the coco lime flavor won me over. When i needed to replenish I went to the store and noticed the packaging looking suspiciously slender-er. I asked one of the shop ladies if the bottle was smaller, and she told me that its the same amount as the more transparent squeeze bottle. I went home and did a comparison. The old bottle did hold more product, the difference seemed significant enough. Its not a huge deal, but it is bad business to lie , and at freakin’ $16.00 a bottle plus tax.

    • HB says:

Oh wow I can’t believe they told you that! The new bottles are definitely smaller. Maybe she didn’t know the big difference between 200 and 240 mL??

Ever since the NEW site/packaging redesign the sizes have gotten smaller!! NOTICE how they are stating the sizes in ML obviously the standard in the US where they are based is OZ. Why the heck would you state ML and not OZ….I have to go to an online converter just to see the size in OZ. That’s VERY deceptive! PS their Luscious Locks Hair Mask WAS 8OZ last summer and now it’s 6.76OZ for the SAME price. GIVE ME A BREAK. Her products aren’t ALL THAT LOL

      • HB says:

Ooooh I didn’t know she decreased the size of the masque too! Last time I got it, it was still 8oz. That’s one of the reasons why I got it during the flash sale. The 6.7oz doesn’t really bother me that much because if you get the fanatic size (which is actually two bottles), it’s $24 so $12 each. It’s really just more cost efficient to order more, and she often has buy two get one free specials. However…I can’t get down with all the ingredients not being consistent between the bottles and the sites. They need to fix it seriously…

oh wow. (sign) (louder sigh) i was there yesterday to purchase the sweet ambrosia after rave reviews then i realize hair milk is no longer around. i used that in the past and did not care for it post summer month. the bottle is thinner even though i threw the hair milk out.
one woman was sort of nice and the others were busy putting together orders. it seems information is on a need to know basis.
so i agree. i won’t be buying this again. i don’t mind the product and it is better formulated that the old hair milk but i don’t care for the value.

Snap! Do you know where to buy a 16 oz Oyin Hair Dew? They only ship USPS Priority Mail with shipping cost of $11.30. That shipping cost is burning hole in my wallet. I cannot commit and looking for a bargain. I may have to wait until they have a sale of some sort if I can buy elsewhere. Curlmart has only the 8 oz and out of stock.
Is there any over the counter in drug store good moisturizers to use on natural hair? I am not sure if you have already covered this topic.

Thank you for the review. After I was watching your review of KBB, I began thinking that how much you pay like you said it is best to try to find something reasonable. I know I was buying to moisturize my hair at night. I think I will just reorder Oyin Hair Dew as a night time hair moisturizer. At least I could purchase a bigger bottle have more to use compared to this. Even the regular size Hair Dew gives more. I can detangle with this KBB before I plait my hair for the night.
