Can I just say thank you so much for all your great reviews. I had used a number of leave-in conditioners that didn’t leave my hair moisturized for any measure of time. I use a lot of oils, herbs, clay, and black soap, but buy leave-in and rinse out conditioners. I was hesitant to try any new leave-in conditioners because I just felt like I was wasting my money. I use Oyin Honey Hemp as my co-wash conditioner and love it better that way then as a leave-in. I don’t mind spending money on products that work.

I tried the Curl Junkie Beauticurls Argan and Olive Conditioner and it is AMAZING. I love it. It leaves my hair moisturized all day and night. I normally spritz water on my hair before going to bed, but didn’t for the first two nights I used this and in the morning my hair was still moisturized. After my workout, as I was rinsing out my hair, I could still feel it. It gave me awesome slip to finger detangle before even using the Honey Hemp. I bought the Smoothing Lotion as well and I am looking forward to trying it in the fall. I have officially stopped looking. I have found my holy grail leave-in.

Glad to see someone who agrees with me about curl pattern, and hair products. When I first went natural that was my guide, but after a while it didn’t make sense to me because how does the curl pattern determine what products you use. Plus I have different types of curls all over my head.

Anyway, thanks for the FAQ. I love watching your videos!

Exactly! I remember when I first went natural people were talking about using different products on different sections of their hair because of the curl pattern….I was like ummm that’s doing way too much…it didn’t sound right to me, so I kinda chucked the whole system, lol. And thank you – glad you enjoy the vids. 😉

I workout in the morning and rinse my hair after 🙂

I prefer to workout in the morning and love the feel of water on my hair. It seems to be working for me. I couldn’t workout in the evening, I partake fully of happy hour!

Great video. I wanted to post a question on STK and split ends (how long was your hair before you saw split ends and single strand knots?). I have encountered one yet at 7 inches (or I don’t know what they are) and I tried to do a search and destroy and couldn’t find any split ends or don’t know what that is either. I’ll make sure I do it for next week.

Yea, I can’t wake up to work out because I get up for work at 5:30am, so if I had to work out previously I’d have to wake up at ummm 3:30am probably. No thanks! I’m not sure how long my hair was when I saw SSKs (don’t have many splits unless I do something bad) – it was probably when my hair began to hang and rub against my neck. People have asked questions about SSKs on here before, I know it’s on another FAQ. If you don’t see them, don’t worry about them.

This is not a hair related question but what kind of laptop do you use to shoot your vids?? The quality is great and it would help me narrow down my laptop down selection. LOL.

    • HB says:

I have a HP Envy 14″, but I actually hate the quality because it’s so dependent on the lighting…if it’s overcast outside it can end up looking cruddy and it doesn’t follow my hand movements fast enough (makes it blurry). I actually want a new camera!

Thanks for the answer re: Curl Pattern. I too started out trying to figure out the difference between a 3c and 4a and what the distinction should mean for my haircare regimen. 10 months out now, and I recently came to the realization that I didn’t think it matters near as much as just observing how my own hair reacts to various ingredients, care methods and environmental factors.
Glad to find a like-minded v/blogger in you Elle. 🙂
P.S. By way of proving it, your hair back when it was my length LOOKS almost identical to mine in terms of curl pattern…. but my hair is all about KCCC spiked with ample amounts of glycerin…. Go figure.
