Some Random Cool Things (Thank you!)

Image**Peekaboo** So, I’m not sure if my blog subbies know this, but on YT I have some videos that weren’t for my blog and I therefore could not post them (I wasn’t even supposed to have them on YT, but there were issues with making videos private). In addition to blogging for my own channel, I have also been doing reviews and videos for Carol’s Daughter! Recently, I did a vid on how I use the Chocolat Smoothing Blow Dry Cream, which is my staple for flat ironing. I thought it was pretty cool to see my video on their actual site for such a well recognized brand. You can check it out atΒ http://carolsdaughter.com/Portal.aspx?CN=4697B0A9A9FB.

Also, I’ve been nominated on BGLH as a Natural Hair Style Icon of 2011! For me, this is a cool thing just because two years ago, I had an inch of hair! I feel like I’ve come far in my journey and I’m proud of my progress. For the first time since I was a child, I can truly say that I LOVE my hair!

I truly appreciate all of the support I have gotten from you guys – and I don’t mean the views (’cause meh) – I’m talking about the dialogues and discussions we have here in the comments, in YouTube comments, and on Facebook and Twitter. My thing is, I HATE feeling like I am simply talking AT people and getting a ton of questions. One time I had a BlogTV and it was just like RAPID FIRE questions, and I was like, “No ma’am!! Let’s slow down and talk a bit!!” I want us to talk about hair via a two (or ten) way conversation, because I love it!

Anyway, now I’m going off on some random tangent (again), but I just wanted to share some updates with you all.

xoxo

Yay! Hope you win because I’ve learned sooooo much from you in just a few months. My curls are poppin’ the most! I’m so glad that I listened to you and tried that Shea Moisture black soap plaintain masque…oh it’s amazing and my hair loves it. Thank you bunches for sharing.

Amazing you should be very proud of yourself I know that I’m very proud of you. I suffer from Multiple Sclerosis and was hesitant to go natural cause I thought that in order to succeed I had to master twist out’s & that was way to much work for me so if i hadn’t stumbled across your YT page I would have never thought it possible to do wash n go’s only. I am now 8months into my journey and my hair is doing great. So you deserve all these accolades & much much more. You inspire me and for that I thank you.

Thank you, Demetra! I’m glad to see that you and your hair are doing well. I can only imagine how much work twist outs must be :(, so I’m glad you’ve gotten your wash and go down! Good luck on your journey.

Congratulations Elle!!! You are truly deserving of this honor. I love your Blog, reviews and ‘how you tell it like it is’. Your hair is gorgeous and with you sharing your journey from twa to now is absolutely awesome!!! I am one that participated in BlogTV and it definitely was ‘rapid-fire’ but much fun sharing and talking ‘hair’. We look forward to even more in 2012!!! Stay Blessed!!! πŸ™‚

Congrats on the nominaton! Everytime you review a product, I feel like I have to try it! I have been natural for 8 yrs but never knew how to make my curls “POP” until now πŸ™‚ I really enjoy your reviews. Thanks for all your help πŸ˜‰

Please help! I am newly natural and I swear that I have the dryest hair on the planet! Can you suggest any products that can help? I guess my hair is somewhere in th 4’s. So far I tried Shea Moisture because it was natural and they had it at my local Walgreen’s, but I wasn’t happy with the results. I wasnt sure if it was because it’s winter and there is glycerin in mostlty all of their stuff I have. Please help a dry headed sista out!!!

There are SO many resources on this site that will help you out a TON. There’s my holy grail list and the honorable mentions, and I have done several QOTD posts with people asking about dry hair. I have two posts about winter hair and products without glycerin (for each year). Also, there are posts about some ingredients that moisturize, like aloe vera. Have you looked at any of them?

Congratulations! I have been following you for a year on YT and you have helped me tremendously as I get to know my own hair. I think natural hair vloggers/bloggers such as yourself are invaluable to the natural hair community. I personally really appreciate you sharing your hair experiences with folks like me that you don’t know. Elle, how brave of you! πŸ™‚ Tiatreb
