Last night, I got really frustrated with my red tips. If you follow me on Facebook, you KNOW I hate them. Like, DESPISE them. So, I on a boring Friday night, I ventured out to Harris Teeter to get some dye and went to town. Eh. I used Garnier HerbaShine in Tiki Hut.

How long did you leave the dye on? Just curious because I’m low porosity as well.
I may have commented on this before, but your hair is just amazing! Not only the length/growth. But it also looks so healthy! Amazing!!!
Hello Elle,
I am going to go out on a limb here and say this colour is gorgeous on you! It suits your skin tone/colouring and the rich tone, makes you hair look so healthy full and fabulous!
I have always admired your hair, but this hair dye has taken that to another dimension totally!
I think you should give it time, you may find you love it after all, and also, remember that dyes often don’t show their true beauty till after a wash or two, then you start to see the tonal highlights in all their glory.
jesus you have the best hair, whatever color it is!
You Look Beautiful! Your hair looks sooo long! How long have you been natural and how long did it take you to grow out your hair from your big chop?
I really like that color on you. I think darker hair is sexy! Perhaps because mine is darker! lol
What kind of style is your hair in in the vid? Twist out? It looks big and full and gorgeous lol
Hi Elle,
I would be a bit cautious with store bought dye. I had the same experience red tips which I wanted to get rid of, so used textures and tones in a medium brown it came out dark and then about 4 weeks later used a light brown it can out even darker also most black( despised it) . I ended going to an Aveda salon after 6 weeks to get it corrected. Now I have full highlights and toner. It looks and feels so much better back to my brown hair with some dimension. It cost some $$$ but my hair thanked me for not messing with it.
My advise spend the money and go to a colorist but do your research. If you insist on store dyes most of which look darker than what it looks in the box. Colorist advise considering 2-3 levels above the color you want.
Yea…I’m kind of anti colorist because the dyes are generally stronger. I’ve never had my hair dyes professionally and I’ve been playing with dye since age 12. I might just leave it alone though or get a blonde. I usually always get blonde but they didn’t have it at the store.
