Target is Feeding My Hair Addiction

So, I love Target. Target, Tarjay, whatever you wanna call it. Every time I go there, I wind up leaving with a ton of stuff, and I love the Shea Moisture products they carry. Anyway, today I hopped onto the Target site in order to plan my latest haul, and what do I see? Some delicious looking natural hair on the homepage. What a way to brighten my day; it’s so nice to see the media embracing our curls more and more. Just wanted to share with you all, because it made me smile. Her hair is thebomb.com!

LOL! Indeed, Elle. I got Tarjay circular in my newspaper this weekend… the *only* reason I opened it up and perused through their advertisements was because of their beautiful natural-haired hair model on the cover!— I wanted to see more pics of her and see if they styled her differently throughout the ads…

Anyways, their inclusion marketing works. Thumbs up to Target! 🙂

I’ve been noticing that too! I almost sat and counted all of the natural women in the ads of a magazine I was reading. There was so many of us!!

Have noticed since going natural a year ago how much more the mainstream media is embracing women of color in their natural state. The days of only seeing weaves and relaxed hair on TV may be behind us. Nice to see a real depiction of what we naturally look like. Big ups Tarjay, they can always get some of my dough! Going there today to stock up in fact! Thanks Elle!

Thankfully (I think) non of my local Targets carries curly/natural hair products. Walgreens, Fred Meyer, local BSS, etc has already got me!

That’s a great picture. I love how the media is using curlies for marketing as well. If everyone, including “black people”, keep seeing images of sistahs with natural hair we’ll eventually get to the point where being natural is not viewed as being so…what’s the word – I don’t know different, rebellous, trendy, lots of things people think about natural hair.

I don’t know what they pump into the air at Tarjay but I’ll be darn if I can’t leave there without 10 more things than I went for!! And now that they are carrying a wide variety of hair care products to support my journey it’s out of control…and now this! I should go on ahead and get some stock!!
